We want to make sure Krita works well for all of our users, so I will do my best to figure out a way to solve this Flatpak/Steam/AppImage incompatibility in the future.
Alternatively, you may just want to use a non-Flatpak Steam install for now. However, there is a workaround, because you can still launch the AppImage that Steam gives you from outside of Steam (either using a file browser to navigate to it, wherever your Steam content is installed, or from a terminal). It seems like the Krita AppImage will fail to mount while inside the Flatpak container environment. UPDATE: This problem appears to only be affecting Linux users who have Steam installed through Flatpak.
